HISTORY: SAVvy MARKeting Entertainment Group, LLC (SMEG) was formed by owners Savoy (SAVvy) Walker and Mark (MARKeting) A. Forrest. They were prompted to start their company under the guise of then-aspiring artists who were in dire need of guidance and honest managerial representation in the entertainment business. The concept and goal was to create a family based organization that would provide a conducive and supportive familial environment for clients while building and/or rebuilding their clientele’s brands and also guiding their respective careers.

[column_one_third]Savoy Walker – With roots in the “Celebrity Fitness” world for the past 13 years, as well as his entertainment management experience. Savoy has seen his share of the “ins and outs” of the entertainment world. In 2001 he served as road manager for Arista Recording Artists Koffee Brown. From his cable areobic fitness show “Doin it My Way” to his 10 1/2 years training celebrity clients, Savoy has learned to cater, nurture and develop the talents and strengths of his clients.[/column_one_third][column_one_third_last]Mark A. Forrest – With 12 years plus experience at the Screen Actors Guild, the world’s largest entertainment union, Mark has worn many hats within SAG. Business Management, Affirmative Action liaison, Agency liaison, Theatrical/TV production and union member organizer. Influenced by many musical styles, Mark coordinated recording sessions for 3 years at Sony Studios to an array of top recording artist in the music industry.[/column_one_third_last]

Ulysses Carter/Publicist – came abroad Savvy Marketing Entertainment Group , LLC in 2009 with experience in music and lifestyle publicity. Taking full advantage of his 18+ years as a communications professional, and of a broad and wide-reaching network of contacts throughout the media, writers, editors, producers and talent bookers, broadcast personalities and senior management executives Ulysses Carter has forged his own path and become a recognized leader in the publicity and public relations field. Carter’s career encompasses stints as in-house Senior Media Director for Whitney Houston Enterprises/Nippy Inc; Director of Publicity at Arista Records during legendary executive Clive Davis’ tenure, has paired him with some of the industry’s brightest stars, including: Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Prince, Usher, TLC, Q-Tip, Run DMC, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Monica, Deborah Cox, Faith Evans, 112, Carl Thomas, among many others.. Carter is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, the National Black Public Relations Society, the Greater New York Black Public Relations Society, The Museum of Television and Radio, the Museum of Moving Image, The National Association of Black Journalists, a voting member of NARAS (the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences) and The NAACP Image Awards. Ulysses is the recipient of the National Black Public Relations Society Network Award (2004) Ulysses holds a BA in Communications and Health from Hunter College of New York and currently resides in Manhattan.
Cynna Gorham/Coordinator – formerly a model for Faces International, participated in fashion shows and several print ads, as well as an Doritos commercial ,she decided modeling was just a hobby to her which became very short lived. She then went on to do auditions for music videos in which she was selected as one of the leads. She worked along side of Video & MTV personality Fab 5 Freddy, as well as Video Director Hype Williams in several music hip hop and R&B videos with such artist as Nice & Smooth, Biggie Smalls, Salt & Pepa, Masta Ace and the late rapper Big L, just to name a few. Throughout the years, Cynna has networked and met some interesting people in the industry who has mentored her about how to create your own brand in this business. She then realized behind the scene is where she found her niche to be. In 2009 she came aboard with SMEG working as an research coordinator.
